Policies & Commitments

At Pathway Living Services, our policies and commitments help ensure that the support we provide is safe, respectful, person-centred, and responsive to the needs of every individual we work with.

Our Commitment to Safe and High-Quality Support

We are committed to delivering support that promotes dignity, independence, wellbeing, inclusion, and safety. Our policies guide how we work, how we respond to concerns, and how we maintain professional standards across our service.

These commitments reflect our values as an organisation and our responsibility to provide support that is consistent, accountable, and centred around the individual.

Our Key Policies and Commitments

Safeguarding

Safeguarding is central to our service. We are committed to protecting individuals from abuse, neglect, exploitation, and harm. All concerns are taken seriously, reported appropriately, and managed in line with safeguarding procedures and professional responsibilities.

Equality, Diversity & Inclusion

We are committed to treating everyone fairly and with respect. We promote equality of opportunity, value diversity, and work to ensure that individuals feel included, listened to, and supported without discrimination.

Dignity, Privacy & Respect

We believe every person has the right to be treated with dignity and respect. We support individuals in ways that protect their privacy, uphold their rights, and recognise their personal choices, identity, and independence.

Complaints and Feedback

We welcome feedback and are committed to learning from concerns, complaints, and suggestions. Complaints are taken seriously, investigated fairly, and responded to promptly so that improvements can be made where needed.

Privacy & Data Protection

We are committed to handling personal information responsibly and confidentially. Information is stored and shared appropriately, only when necessary, and in line with data protection requirements and professional standards.

Medication Support

Where medication support is part of an individual’s assessed needs, this is delivered in line with safe procedures, support plans, and risk assessments. Our aim is to promote wellbeing while supporting safety and accountability.

Infection Prevention & Control

We are committed to maintaining high standards of hygiene and infection prevention. Staff are expected to follow safe working practices, use appropriate protective equipment where required, and respond appropriately to illness, infection risks, and health-related concerns.

Health & Safety

We work to maintain safe environments for service users, staff, and visitors. This includes risk assessments, incident reporting, safe working procedures, and ongoing monitoring to help reduce avoidable harm and promote safe day-to-day support.

Person-Centred Support

We are committed to ensuring that support is shaped around the individual’s needs, goals, strengths, and preferences. We involve individuals in decisions about their support and aim to promote choice, control, and meaningful outcomes.

Positive Risk Management

We recognise that independence often involves measured and positive risk-taking. Our approach is to balance safety with opportunity, ensuring that risks are assessed, understood, reviewed, and managed in a way that supports growth and autonomy.

Staff Conduct and Professional Standards

We expect staff to work with integrity, accountability, compassion, and professionalism. Safer recruitment, training, supervision, and clear expectations support the delivery of reliable and consistent care.

Whistleblowing

We are committed to promoting a culture where staff feel able to raise concerns about poor practice, misconduct, or safety issues. Concerns raised in good faith are taken seriously and handled appropriately.

How Our Policies Support Good Practice

Our policies are not simply documents. They guide how we recruit staff, train teams, respond to risk, review incidents, communicate with professionals, and support individuals in daily practice.

We use supervision, audits, feedback, reviews, and ongoing learning to help ensure that our service remains safe, responsive, and focused on continuous improvement.

Working in Partnership

We work collaboratively with local authorities, commissioners, social workers, healthcare professionals, housing providers, advocates, and family members where appropriate. Our policies support clear communication, accountability, and coordinated working to achieve better outcomes for the people we support.
